One of the major tasks that confront a Workflow Management Suite user is the need to create new models and/or options in their Sage Timberline Estimating database. One of the most popular strategies for creating a new model, along with its attendant options, is to copy an already existing model.
Features and efficiencies. The process of copying existing model and options to a new model has been a fairly tedious task up until now. It involved the copying of Group Phases, Phases, Items, Group Assemblies and Assemblies in the Sage Timberline Estimating application. While it has been possible to utilize Timberline's Spreadsheet Editor tool to ease the burden of copying Items, it was still necessary to build the Option Assemblies one at a time in the estimating program. The only other option was to have models/options added to a database by the database-building consultants at BuilderMT.
MODELS AND OPTIONS MANAGER
TheWMS Models and Options module is a collection of utilities which builders may use to define and maintain the complete master list of Models and Options which they build and sell. This module provides the functions to create and manage the master list of Models and Options from within the WMS application and database. The master list of Model and Option data may be initially imported into WMS from a Sage Timberline Office Model/Option database, or pushed to WMS from extrernal systems such as BIM/CAD via the Bmt.Net API. Updates to the Model and Option data may also be pushed back to the source STO Estimating databased, or pulled into external systems such as BIM/CAD via the Bmt.Net API.
ASSEMBLY ITEM MANAGER
The Assembly Item Manager screen provides a workspace which allows the user to make global modifications to the current assemblies in WMS and the linked Sage Timberline® Office Estimating database.
These actions include:
· Select items to be modified in assemblies.
· Identify the assemblies which currently contain the selected item(s).
· Select assemblies to be modified as required.
· Add selected items to one or more assemblies at the same time.
· Modify the factor of selected items in one or more assemblies at the same time.
· Replace a selected item with a different item in one or more assemblies at the same time.
· Delete selected items from one or more assemblies at the same time.

ITEM GRID
· The Item Grid allows the user to select Origin Items from the items list in WMS and the Sage
· Timberline® Office Estimating database linked to the current WMS Desktop division.
· Once Origin Items are added to the Item Grid, the user can nominate an action to be performed with each Origin Item against each assembly selected in the Assembly List.
Available actions are:
ADD - Adds the Origin Item to each assembly selected in the Assembly List. If an instance of the Origin Item already exists in a selected assembly, another instance of the Origin Item is still added to the assembly.
UPDATE - Updates the factor for all instances of the Origin Item in each assembly selected in the Assembly List. If the Origin Item is not used in any selected assembly, then no action is performed for that assembly.
DELETE - Deletes all instances of the Origin Item from each assembly selected in the Assembly List.
REPLACE - Replaces all instances of the Origin Item in each assembly selected in the Assembly List with the nominated Replacement Item. If the Origin Item is not used in any selected assembly, then no action is performed for that assembly. Depending of the Action selected for the Origin Item, a value may be required in the Operator and Factor columns.
