IMPORTANT UPDATE in WMS 4.6.x |
|
Beginning in WMS 4.6.x, company databases are only created, removed and upgraded by the administrator on the WMS Server using the Database Maintenance Utility; individual workstation users will no longer have the ability to create, remove and upgrade company databases from individual workstations. |
In order to work with data in WMS, the user must be logged in to a company. The company is selected at the time the software is launched. However, it may be necessary to work in a different company once the software is already open.
From File menu, select Open Company.
Or, click on the
Open Company icon within the File toolbar.
If there are multiple companies configured in the software, the Select Company screen displays.

Select the company to log in to and click OK. The software automatically displays the Company Logon Access screen.
|
Note |
|
If there is only one company configured, the company selection screen will not display. |
The logon screen prompts the user for a valid user ID and password to log in to the company database. Users are configured within the company database by accessing Setup > Security in WMS.
At the Company Logon Access prompt, enter a valid user ID and password.
Click OK to log into the selected company database.

|
Note |
|
The first time WMS is launched following installation, the only available User ID will be SYSADMIN. Please contact your consultant for the password to log in to the software for the first time. As this user ID has full administrator rights over the software, please share this password only with users that should have full administrator rights. Additional users are created in Security Manager, found on the Setup menu (explained later in this documentation). |
