Custom Descriptions - Sage Timberline® Integration

 

Custom descriptions allow the user to customize the description of a field. The fields with names that start with 'WMS' are custom descriptions found only in the WMS database and do not exist in Sage Timberline Job Cost.  

 

Note

The Sage Timberline Accounting custom descriptions MUST MATCH EXACTLY to the custom descriptions in WMS. The synchronizing of Job Cost and Accounts Payable information will not function properly unless the descriptions match between Sage Timberline Accounting and WMS.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To access custom descriptions:

  1. From the Setup menu, select Custom Descriptions.

  2. Or, click on the Custom Descriptions icon on the Setup toolbar.

  3. The following screen will display in the right side of the WMS desktop:

 

 

Understanding the Fields

 

Field Type

 

Default Description

 

This is the standard description within the software that will display on screens and reports if the Custom Description field is left blank.

 

Custom Description

 

This is a user-defined field. If a custom description is assigned, the custom description will display on screens and reports instead of the standard software defined description.
