Summary of Software Behavior based on Configuration of Accounting and Estimating Integration Settings

These are the Default settings.

• Job Cost: Sage Timberline Office® Job Cost fields always overwrite mapped WMS Job fields, even if the Job Cost field is blank and the WMS field is not blank.

• WMS:  Edits made to WMS Job fields that are mapped to Sage Timberline Office Job Cost will be lost.  

• Estimate:  Estimate Cover Page Information will not write to WMS or to Sage Timberline Office Job Cost.

• Job Cost:  Sage Timberline Office Job Cost fields always overwrite mapped WMS Job fields, even if the Job Cost field is blank and the WMS field is not blank.

• WMS:  Edits made to WMS Job Fields that are mapped to Sage Timberline Office Job Cost will be lost.  

• Estimate:  Estimate Cover Page Information fields will overwrite WMS fields if the WMS fields are blank.  However, Sage Timberline Office Job Cost fields will overwrite any Estimate Cover Page information written to WMS.

• Job Cost:  Sage Timberline Office Job Cost fields will only update mapped WMS Job fields that are blank.

• WMS:  Edits made to WMS Job Fields that are mapped to Sage Timberline Office Job Cost will NOT be sent to Job Cost.  Data can easily get out of sync if edits are allowed to mapped fields.  THIS CONFIGURATION OF SETTINGS IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

• Estimate:  Estimate Cover Page Information will not write to WMS or to Sage Timberline Office Job Cost.

For this configuration of settings to work efficiently, the following workflow order will need to be followed:

1. Enter data in Sage Timberline Office Job Cost fields that are to be controlled by Job Cost.

2. Synchronize jobs by running the Receive New Jobs from Job Cost process in WMS.  From the Main menu select Integration > Timberline Accounting > Receive New Jobs from Job Cost.

3. Import the base house estimate into the job in WMS.  From the main menu select Purchasing > Issue Purchase Orders > Add Timberline Estimate.

4. Enter data in WMS Job fields that are to be controlled by WMS.

5. Synchronize jobs by running the Share All Job Information with Job Cost process in WMS.  From the Main menu select Integration > Timberline Accounting > Share All Job Information with Job Cost.
