Sales Pricing Integration should be set up and executed with the assistance of a certified BuilderMT Consultant.

BuilderMT is not responsible for issues, lost revenue, or loss of data experienced by persons or companies using the documentation contained in this help file as a means of bypassing BuilderMT's explicit recommendation that sales center setup and integration only be performed by a certified BuilderMT Consultant. |
After setup, the Sales Pricing module integration with the sales center software (either Builder 1440 or Sales Simplicity), consists of generating an .XML file using information written to the sales center update log file, then pushing the file to the sales center via FTP. Each sales center then imports the data, manipulates it as necessary, then rewrites the information to a different .XML file. To complete the “round-trip,” the file is imported back into the Sales Pricing module in WMS for review and approval, as appropriate. Once a configuration is approved, information is generated automatically in Purchasing (i.e., budgets and POs are ready to be issued), in order to be sent to Sage Timberline Accounting.

Note |
|
Users working in an environment with multiple companies dealing with the same sales center must process incoming sales center items for each company individually, closing one company before proceeding to the next. Subsequent retrievals must be performed manually (Retrieve from Disk). |
The .XML output produced by WMS is different based on the sales center type selected within the Setup > Company > Sales Center Integration screen. This is because each sales center has different requirements for what data to include. There are two formats:
BuilderMT (i.e., “custom” output) and Sales Simplicity share one format.
Builder 1440 has its own format.

Note |
|
Each sales center application treats the .XML file differently. BuilderMT strongly recommends the client (or the client’s consultant assisting with the integration), contact the particular sales center company in order to understand how the information arriving from the .XML file will be handled, including in what fields within the sales center software the particular data from WMS will appear. |
Identify the proper WMS setup that needs to be in place prior to using sales center software.
Identify the proper, complete set up of data within the respective sales center software.
Provide troubleshooting recommendations for issues that our Support department has seen.
It is critical that clients actively involve a BuilderMT consultant during a sales center implementation. This is not a simple implementation process as it involves making sure data within WMS is properly set up, and that the sales center software is also properly configured.
In addition to helping implement the software, the BuilderMT consultant can provide an explanation of how each department typically uses the sales-related information in their respective software applications. In other words, explain to the staff in the sales center what the Purchasing people see when data flows in from the sales center, and vice versa. It is important that the sales staff understands that changes made to the sales contract affect the users of WMS. Information put into the sales center software that will go to WMS needs to be carefully thought out and fields consistently used.
