Delete Privileges from a User

 

Understanding the Privileges Hierarchy

The privileges are organized as follows:

 

 

Expand the All Privileges folder to view main menu/module folders. Expand menu/module folders to view options. Expand menu/module options to view tasks.

 

To remove a privilege from a user:

  1. From the Setup menu, select Security Manager.  

  2. Click the blue Users tab in the upper left corner of the screen. The list of existing users will display in the left pane of the screen.

  3. To delete privileges from an existing user, click on the User ID in the left pane.

  4. Click the Privileges tab on the bottom of the screen.
     

 

 

 

Note

Privileges that have been assigned to the user as a member of a group will be checked and shaded. At the task level, the Group icon will also indicate the task was assigned to the user as a member of a group. In order to delete privileges assigned as part of a Group, delete the Group from the user.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. To delete all option and task privileges contained in a menu/module from a user, click the associated checkbox at the Folder level and leave the checkbox blank.  

  2. To delete all task privileges contained in a menu/module option from a user, click the associated checkbox at the Option level and leave the checkbox blank.  

  3. To delete an individual task from a user, click the associated checkbox at the task level and leave the checkbox blank.

  4. After all appropriate groups, privileges, and reports have been deleted from a specific User ID, continue changing additional users, or save the changes to this user.

  5. At the end of the Security Management session, click theSave button.

  6. Click the Exit icon in the upper right corner to exit the application.
