Creating Areas - Scheduling Tab

These settings allow the user to define a specific work week for a specific area. The area work week defines the days of the week that the area is eligible to work (overriding the work week set at the company and division level). The schedule baseline and projected dates calculate based on the valid number of days within a work week, also taking into account "days off/holidays" marked within the calendar selected to apply to that area.

The work week and calendar defined on the Scheduling tab in Setup > Areas applies only to the specific area selected.

Note

The work week may also be set at the company, division, or job level.   When calculating dates within schedules, the Scheduling module looks for the work week based on a specific hierarchy. See Scheduling Work Week Hierarchy, Defining the Company Work Week, Defining the Division Work Week, Job Work Week for additional information.

Note

It is recommended to create the calendar(s) first, in order to populate the Company Calendar drop-down menu. See Setup > Workday Calendars. If a calendar is created but does not show up in the Company Calendar drop-down menu, it may be necessary to click the Refresh button.

If only Saturday is marked on the Scheduling tab in the Setup > Areas screen, the work week will be calculated within the schedules for Saturday only. See Company Work Week and Division Work Week for additional information.
